Cedar Lane Farm has a long and hallowed past with much to be thankful for. The future looks equally as great.

Cedarlane Farm is owned by the Johnson family and their love for the land and reverence of the environment and resoursces will allow the farm to prosper. After seeing what his Grandfather, J. Seward Johnson, had accomplished in the Holstein breed, Tucker Johnson, along with his mother, Gretchen, and father, James Johnson, provided a resurgence of Cedar Lane Farm and Milk & Honey genetics in dairy cattle.

Tucker studied blood lines, read everything available on dairy cattle and took advice from many reputable people of the breeds. Cattle from many of the top herds, both in the US and Canada were added to the Milk & Honey herd. The dairy is well diversified through both Red and Black Holsteins and equally impressive Jerseys and Brown Swiss. We have a strong foundation of proven cow families that will contribute to our breed's futures.

The dairy has enjoyed much success with past achievements of many show champions, All-Americans, and numerous production awards. The claim of Master Breeder and Premier Exhibitory has come our way with much enthusiasm. The "Dairy of Distinction" award has also been one of our nicer achievements.

Take a tour of our facilities in the slide show above. The photos were taken during the National Holstein Convention Picnic we hosted here at the farm.

The views above show the different buildings associated with our dairy and horse operations.

  1. Front view of our tie stall barn and feed storage.
  2. A view of the back end of the tie stall barn.
  3. A full view of the free stall barns that house dry cows and heifers and recipients.
  4. Another view of the free stall barns.
  5. A view of the cows in the free stall.
  6. A view of the individual calf pens
  7. A view of the old dairy barn that is now housing horses.
  8. A view of the riding arena.

Our staff comes with many years of experience in the purebred and commercial cattle business. The common sense approach of producing the "right kind" of functional and productive cattle will allow for our future and those whom purchase the "Cedar Lane Kind".
